South Coast Bar & Grill carries on the legacy of Reef Point Bar & Restaurant, founded in 1978 by mother and son, Ventris and Charles Powell. Ventris, a passionate cook, and Charles, a skilled fisherman, created the perfect local coastal dining experience. ( South caost Bar Cayman 2025)
Before opening the restaurant, Ventris cooked at The Lighthouse Club and Decker’s in George Town, while Charles worked as a fireman and fished in his spare time. Their home-cooked meals gained popularity, leading to the birth of Reef Point.
